Tiny steps of peace

When I feel disturbed or anxious, it is hard to move forward.

I find I I can calm myself, though, when I consider the tiniest step I can take.

The tiny step may be looking up a phone number in preparation for a call.

It may be sitting down at my art table.

It may be filling up a container with water for art.

It may be sitting still until I feel calm.

I know, that if I take the time, and breathe, and sit, that I will begin to loose my agitation and be able to focus  on peace.

Then I can take my tiny step.

Doing what I love is a practice which has created consistent peace for me.

Taking the many tiny steps to move myself into the peace of doing what I love is totally worth it.

Sometimes I had to pretend that that was not what I was doing.

I had to fool myself out of the old habit of creating tension for myself.

Even though I excelled at getting things done, and I was glad to be able to do so, it was not the same as doing what I love.

My tiny steps have turned into big steps.

I am more at home with myself and more supportive of my own needs.

I live peacefully in beautiful surroundings.

I attract those of like-mind.

I know that my ability to honor myself and to live in accord with my highest values adds peace to the world.

We can take the tiny steps we need to in order to move ourselves into peace.
