Alleviate Suffering Through Forgiveness

When we hurt from someone else’s wrong doing, we are agreeing with their attitude.

We are agreeing that they can be a bully and we can be a victim.

When we disagree with that stance and take ownership of the situation, we can change from suffering to independence and strength and freedom.

How we want to feel is our choice.

Regardless of what has been done in the past, the system seeks to balance itself, whether or not justice is served.

I choose to let the system rebalance according to a different set of laws.

I forgive myself for ever reacting to a bully.

Even when I didn’t know what was hidden in my past and I was reacting to it, I kept working to change my course.

Now that I know more about it, I am glad that I have so much practice in redirecting myself.

I can now make that practice and my choices doubly effective.

I always knew to aim for more happiness.

Now I know how to do so with more clarity.

I have a basis for loving and cherishing myself.

I have a basis for living in peace with myself.

It is disappointing to discover the hidden negative behaviors of people I once knew, but I choose to know myself even better and to love myself even more.

Community and Communion

This holiday season I find that I am not cringing from too many loud gatherings of family and friends.

My husband and I made a conscious effort to contribute to several celebrations, but we did it ahead of time (i.e. mailed gifts) and also met with only a single couple or a small group at several different times.

I find that I am grateful I stood up for my own desires this holiday season.

I enjoyed the celebrations and they were not overwhelming for me at all.

I still have energy and I am thinking about ways to continue contributing and celebrating many more times during the year.

Perhaps I will have a single kid celebration, kind of like recognition on a birthday, only it won’t be loud or compete with other things that are going on.

Perhaps I will simply decide what I value most about a person and let him/her know in some individual way.

Perhaps, even on traditional holidays, I will come up with a unique way to celebrate it and let people know I value them.

I am energized to keep reinventing my community and to allow it to grow gently and quietly as more of a communion than a festival, perhaps.

My Happy Energy Dissolves Unhappiness

My happy energy dissolves unhappiness and the places it resides in me.

If I am feeling ill or unsettled in any part of my life or body, I know that a dose of authentic happiness will revive me.

To make it a habit, I now cultivate happiness energy.

The strength of overcoming hidden negative influences naturally leads to the cultivation of positive and happy ones.

In addition to my technique of “Fallback Affirmations” (www.InspiredPractices.com Your Diamond Mind), I have added a few other tools and techniques.

I cultivate or invent happy memories.

I make them up or create imaginary positive events and place myself in a prominent place in them.

It’s healthier and way more fun than reviewing old negative settings.

I know that my divinity and infinity have access to all the spiritual resources I could ever need.

This is a fun way to play with them.

Another great game is following up on intuitions.

In a happy frame of mind, I see them everywhere.

Just doing one little thing in the direction of an intuition rewards me for listening to it.

I am so happy and proud of myself.

I took a step in a positive direction.

I consciously cultivated it and made a move toward it.

That lightens my load and helps me increase my energy of happiness.

The Last Stand

Once all the illusions are stripped away, there is only the original lie.

I was surprised at its vehemence and the conviction and strength with which it reacted to deter me from my goal.

But I had built up such a conviction of light, love and a sense of the divine within me that I was only a witness to that battle.

It made its last stand in my mind.

I was shocked and surprised at its hatefulness.

No wonder it had to hide for so long.

If it had been seen and exposed for what it was, it would never have been allowed to stay and work its secret ways into my life.

But pouring in the light and developing the conviction that, despite all I was taught during all the child trauma, I do, indeed, love myself, did defeat the enemy of the first lie.

And I am whole.

I am now on my own calm ground, in peace of my own mind and in peace of surroundings which I choose for myself.

I have that power.

Many Routes to Happiness

There are many routes to happiness besides the Western one.

I taught music lessons in the homes of the wealthiest people in the Dallas area for four years.

I used to say that I taught in millions of dollars worth of office space.

But I did not always teach happy children.

And though I often saw very happy families, there were also tense, unhappy, pressured families as well.

Happiness consists of being the person who does what she loves to do.

With what one young friend calls, “passion and purpose”, we can live happily with fulfillment.

That answer looks different to different people.

We complement one another with our differences and preferences.

That is why there really is a route to world happiness.

We all have to embrace it in our own different ways.

It is not a case of competing for limited world resources.

It is the will to allow everyone to live well.

The more individuals who find this way help lay the groundwork for the next individuals.

The more corporations who look to the well-being of both employees and their surroundings help lay the groundwork for the next corporate steps.

The triple bottom line works for everyone - people, place, profit.

We all participate as we take, and encourage others to take, steps to happiness.

One Thousand Into Ten Thousand

A thousand misunderstandings shall fall at your side.
Ten thousand understandings shall dissolve and replace them.

A thousand regrets are replaced with ten thousand acts of self-compassion and opportunities for service.

A thousand thunderheads of misunderstandings are carried away by the wisps of the wind and changed into ten thousand understandings.

A thousand small pains are dissolved and resolved into ten thousand celebrations of light and understanding.

A thousand small misunderstandings are dissolved and resolved into ten thousand  communications of support.

A thousand negative thoughts are replaced with ten thousand dedicated conscious acts of kindness toward ourselves and others.

A thousand negative attitudes are reversed by ten thousand acts of loving kindness and compassion.

A thousand historical attitudes of despair are reversed by ten thousand current acts of understanding.

A thousand misleading directives are reversed by the inner guidance of ten thousand willing hearts.

A thousand acts of despair are reversed and replaced by ten thousand acts of hope and upliftment.

A thousand attitudes of ignorance are replaced with the desire of ten thousand for understanding.

A thousand acts of anger are replaced by ten thousand acts of peace.

Specific Care

My first deep breath is of appreciation for the many ways things can work out.

My second deep breath is for everyone I know who appreciates the many ways things can work out.

My third deep breath is for everyone I don’t even know all over the planet who appreciates the many ways things can work out.

----------------

Even without knowing how or why, there are so many changes in our plans.

With the infinite resources of the Universe, it is possible to experience good in the unexpected ways that things work out.

I am learning that I can naturally enjoy myself while things change unexpectedly around me and just watch the new arrangements take shape.

I am learning to keep focusing my thought on good, positive feelings of expectation as things shift.

There is such a peaceful atmosphere around me and those whom I see.

Even though I hear some comments, I am undisturbed by them.

I am learning how to shape my experience from within.

I can appreciate the Universe’s care for each of us.

I appreciate the specific good care and the ways I, and all those upon whom my thought rests, are being taken care of.

Unexpected Ways

Even when things are not going as planned, there is still room for lots of good things to work out.

I am so grateful for the continuing habit of focusing my thoughts on sharing uplifting thoughts within and letting them take shape without.

When previous arrangements are forced to change, the Universe still has Its infinite resources to share with us.

I am finding that these resources, in addition to taking care of me, are able to be shared in a timely way which reaches beyond what I could see or plan and includes many others as well.

It is a much more peaceful approach.

I find I am surrounded by entire peaceful situations, which in a previous mode of thought might not have seemed so peaceful and harmonious.

Peace Going Into the Holidays

I find myself guarding my peace as the pace picks up for the holidays.

I am making sure that I take my time completing my arrangements as I leave the house so I am not caught up in the franticness of the traffic.

I am remembering that I still have my work to do and that I need peace of mind in order to do it.

I read my spiritual writers to remind me of why I am here.

I take the time I need to do what is important to me.

I do not get pushed around at the prompting of the advertisers who serve their corporate directorates.

I know who I am and who I am taking care of and why, and I choose how to do that.

My celebration is quieter and it is moment by moment.

I notice the atmosphere around me.

I am creating my own.

Moving Forward With Peace

With the assurance that we are doing the chosen work we we love, we can move forward with peace.

We know our work is important and that it is contributing to uplifting society and civilization.

We know that we are doing it well.

We can enjoy the lifting up of everything we see.

We can appreciate the receptivity in every direction we are led.

We can feel the divine and holy moment everywhere we go.

This is possible because we are each divine and holy.

Every breath we take is a tribute to our Creator.

Everyone with whom we communicate comes from the same place.

As we see how much we are united in being here and now, it becomes easier and easier to appreciate how much we share and how much we can share with each other.

I am so delighted to be in a field which is devoted to the lifting up of all its clients.

I share the love of this work with millions of people all over the world.

All it takes is our love and generosity and desire to be of service.

We have a wonderful effect in the world.

Person to Person

The issue of race is being addressed most effectively person to person as well as through the several anniversaries of legal achievements.

The courageous acts of children and their parents to break the race barrier is of inestimable value.

Throughout my teaching career, I had the honor of teaching children of all races with many marvelous and dedicated teachers of all races.

Because of the prevalence of historical attitudes, there is a racial residue we are still dealing with.

By working with everyone and experiencing similar situations, it is possible to get to know more individuals and their stories.

When I am in conversation in multi-racial situations, I always feel an underlying evaluation process.

Am I sympathetic?  Aware?  Whose side am I on?

Once it is apparent where I stand, and that it is OK, I am accepted more fully into the conversation.

This happens each time, person to person.

As we seek out the experiences which put us in touch with more individuals, we will have more opportunities to lessen this historical residue and help create more awareness with our individual friendships.

A Habit of Listening

Apparently, listening is meant to be full time.

I am getting pretty good at tuning in when I am at an impasse or I realize I need help.

But what I am learning now, is that if I listen all the time, for every step, they will all be inspired.

I guess I thought I had to get a good idea and then coast on the value and power of that.

I didn’t realize that the Universe supplied all the connecting ideas and follow-up as well.

I guess I thought that once I received the idea it all got turned over to me.

But this is not the case.

The idea is on loan from the Universe.

The Universe is launching it through me.

I still have to listen for all the ideas which the Universe has supplied to bring it to fruition.

I get to watch, participate as a listener, take action where appropriate as directed by the Universe.

And then I get to enjoy the fruition, appreciation and harvest.

Not a bad deal for “just” listening!

Peacefully Following Through

Learning to go within helps establish an unfailing practice for finding answers.

Taking the steps as directed from within always fulfills the need.

When I get stuck, I am learning to go within, without fail, to find the next step.

This always gives me a peaceful solution.

Even though requirements may change daily and even hourly, I can always find the peaceful solution I seek by going within.

Since I have received my inspiration from within, it is natural that I should find the ways to share it most effectively from the same Source.

It is a comfort to know that while I reason my way through all the possibilities there is still only one really great answer, an answer of peace, from within.

Rebirth

Even if a life has not gone as hoped, the peace of rebirth is still a possibility.

The Universe has unlimited resources of support which come to us as we are searching.

Our disappointment is part of the process of rebirth.

We do not accept our situation.

It is unfair, whatever the reasons for it.

We have the right to live well in the Universe of unlimited resources.

Although it is a struggle to rewrite the patterns and habits of thought which have led to our disintegration and lack of growth, it can be done.

As we realize what we desire is good and is possible, even starting from horrible and negative circumstances, we naturally look around for how to start.

That spark from within is where it starts.

It is also the place that all action comes from.

The ideas are within and they lead us to the resources without.

Constant practice and search begins to rewrite the patterns of despair.

Our mighty effort over a sufficient period of time, it may be more, it may be less (mine was more), will result in the steps which lead us into better and better circumstances, until the last obstacle is overcome and we step into our better world.

It may have been good if it took us a long time to get there, because then we have the practice to keep us in our new life.

If not, we have to practice our new habits some more until they become part of us.

We can tell when our practice is lagging because our circumstances reflect it.

We can go within to listen for the new messages which will keep us growing and becoming more and more successful.

The messages from within do not conflict with anyone else, they do not compete.

They light our way and our way alone.

No one can come in through your way, and I promise you, you cannot come in through someone else’s way.

If you do, it is only temporary.

Remember, the kind of success you are looking for is the rebirth of your soul, your right to success, not a job working for someone else’s dream.

Finding the Moments

I am finding the moments that give me peace.

I am also reinterpreting moments in order for them to give me peace.

Habitual rehearsal of old moments does not move me forward.

If I am still thinking about the past, and especially thinking about it in the same old way, then I am digging myself a deeper groove.

Now, I am learning how to move myself forward by reinterpreting my old ways of looking at things.

This is uplifting and it removes the feeling of being stuck.

It removes feelings of despair.

It lightens everything.

A reinterpretation in the light of new events begins to bring better ones into my life.

Who knows?

It might even reach into the past of other people involved and allow a new interpretation there, too.

A Nudge Forward

Sometimes we have a desire which is supported by the Universe but we do not appear to be making any progress on it.

A nudge from the Universe will move us forward.

I surveyed a light unexpected problem with dismay, until I realized it was part of what is moving us forward.

Then I calmed down and began thinking about the next step.

I had not been sure about what to do next, but this definitely moved me forward.

As I was discussing it with a friend, the next step came to mind.

As I was considering it and wondering where the location would be best, I received a text inviting me to visit a friend’s new house.

Since that was one of the locations I was considering, it felt like good direction.

Having done a little research, I feel I am ready to take the next step and move forward.

Sometimes dismay is a nudge to move forward.

Expression

Expressing your life goals through the qualities of life you live is a powerful statement.

Everyone around you feels it.

It is so peaceful when you come into alignment and express yourself in the way that feels best to you.

It may involve a career change, learning new skills, becoming more unlimited.

It make take you to a different location.

However, when you move from peace, you will find it gives your life an entirely different focus.

The focus is inward.

How are you directing your feelings?

Which feelings are you cultivating?

Do you keep reacting to experiences of the past?

How do you replace those experiences and the feelings they evoke?

How do you redirect your thoughts and find the feelings that give you peace?

Listening from within guides you through all those steps.

Keep listening for the peaceful ones.

Argue with the thought that you have to be uncomfortable in order to make a living.

When you accomplish your life goals by changing your direction, you are contributing to the peace of the world.

It is worth all the steps yo have to figure out.

Go blind if you have to, not having a clue what to do.

But go.

Your expression is important.

Only by expressing your deepest happiness in whatever you do, will you contribute to the peace of the world.

Igniting Love and Compassion

I live in Infinite Light.

I am an infinite “lighter”.

Wherever I go, my light ignites the spark within all those who turn to see.

They feel it and they press closer to me.

They want to have what I have.

They want to feel on fire with love and compassion.

It is what I have always had within.

Now I know how to release it.

Welcome Into My Light

It may be that you have had a negative, horrible, traumatic, awful experience which has continued to scare you and limit you throughout your life.

My solution, through a workshop, was to welcome the perpetrator into my light.

I had wrestled with the consequences for many years and was able to take steps toward my own light.

But I still felt hurt and broken and unable to participate in much of the good I saw around me.

As I realized how hurt and unresourceful, how limited in his ability to experience good, the perpetrator was, I was finally able to realize that I could shine my light upon him.

I had learned about my light and learned how to express it widely and freely and imaginatively.

I had learned how valuable I am, regardless of how I was treated.

I had learned that I am happy, because I know myself to be happy.

I had learned that no one else’s actions could take away from who I am.

I had learned that my right to happiness is a birthright and that I can find it within and it will express itself without.

My perpetrator had never figured out any of this for himself.

Despite his cruel limitations, he, too, has a right to happiness.

As he could not find these for himself, I now know, that I can bring him into my light.

Dramatic Changes

I am so grateful to experience what is good today.

Everyone I know is so grateful to experience what is good today.

Everyone I don’t even know, all over the planet, is so grateful to experience what is good today.

------------------
I see many examples of support for individuals through social media.

It is so wonderful to have that outlet and communication.

When someone presents a problem or dilemma, there are numerous people to chime in with help.

Together they give a rich resource of their collective experiences.

Their ideas can help turn a situation around, and open up the person to at least the fact that there are solutions.

That is one of the many things that is good today.

Anything that gets us looking at what is good, increases the good in our lives.

What we look at, increases.

What we practice, increases.

What we focus on, increases.

Despite the media campaigns about what is bad, or solving what is bad, we can keep finding the places of good, even as we support the solutions that make sense to us.

Finding the places of good and staying there in our thoughts, will take us and keep us in those places in life.

As we learn this, we can do it.

Every one of us can practice this, everyone all over the world.

Practical Peace

Once again, I am overflowing with ideas.

I am so blessed by the Universe.

I study my inspirational writings and they take practical form.

Ideas translate into actions and products.

A new community location for study appears out of an adversarial position.

Doubt is replaced by calm certainty.

Order embraces abundance.

Abundance embraces order.

Things go in a flow today.

There is balance and harmony.

I am fed and I prosper.

No harm comes to me.

I have calm and fulfilling activities.

My business takes its next steps forward.

An old vessel empties and another vessel is filled.

I sit and bask in the presence and harmony, guidance and protection of the Universe.
