Capacity for Peace

Our capacity for peace is without limit.

Even individually, this is a challenge, but it is a great goal.

Not to become irritated or agitated is a practice we can initiate several times a day.

As we practice peace in our individual lives, it expands into our communities.

All those daily interactions which show we care for each other has a long-range and long-term comforting effect.

We begin to lose some of our fear.

As a practice, the possibilities for extending this are enormous.

Just maintaining it for ourselves is immense.

A workshop which I took began with finding a reference point for peace.

A thought, an image, a word, a breath.

By bringing ourselves to peace as often as we can, we are creating an uplifting atmosphere for ourselves and for others.

The possibilities for building on this practice send thought and action in a completely new and refreshing direction.

Healing the Worst Aspects

Even if someone cultivates the worst aspects within you, you can come to a place of healing within yourself.

That is what is happening in American society and in many other societies.

We are learning that there are resources we can all draw on to help each other.

As we observe how an attitude of hatred and intolerance is once again fanning the flames of narrow minds, we can consider how to comfort and broaden them.

The rural area where I have retired supports its historic views.

At times, where I am in conversation, I can share some of my many delightful personal experiences with people of different nationalities and belief systems.

It is a little pebble of peace which I am able to drop into the pond.

It is completely reasonable for people to respond in ways which reach deep down into their historical views.

So I am able to calmly and happily describe my experiences and therefore, my differing viewpoint.

It is not always a good to to do so, so I am considerate of where I am.

I am learning to value this new usefulness which I have found, as I value the healing effects of living in beautiful natural surroundings.

Delicious Consciousness

I live in the deliciousness of the Universe that is provided by my Divine Source.

I am at peace here, because I have every relevant resource that is known to the divine, Who loves me and cares for me.

The divine in me responds to the divinity of the Universe, and I feel my unassailable place within.

I exist with everything I need in an inexhaustible supply of companionship, comfort, purpose, prosperity.

I always have my uninterruptible relationship with the divine within me.

This delicious, luxurious, opulent source of peace envelops me and raises me up above attack or disturbance.

My only relationship is with the divine and what the divine provides me.

Any negative thought or memory or reference to the past is wiped out, dissolved, redirected, compensated in my new relationship to all that is good within and without.

I have nothing within me to respond to negativity.

If it has an existence at all, it exists outside the divine, and therefore outside of me.

I love as I have always lived, in the conscious presence of the Divine and Its peace within me.

Never Taken Away

What I have can never be taken away.

It is mine.

It comes from within.

No one else can find it, because it exists within me.

While I can think, I know where it is.

Even while I am not thinking or even awake, it is still there, waiting for me.

When I am confused or disturbed, I still have it.

I can calm myself and go within, and find what is mine.

I can be peaceful and relaxed all the time, knowing what I have.

I can be safe.

I can be secure.

I can be provided for.

I can always have what I need.

It is in a special place, within, that only I know about.

From within, I find connections, resources, friends.

From within, I create a Universe that is safe, and Which loves me.

Can You Feel the Deep Peace?

Underneath all the noise and tumult, can you feel the deep peace?

Have you been driven there?

Waiting, assuring, in Its infinite continuity.

Let all the conflict, discussion, disruption cause  emergence of the new feeling of deep comfort and peace which includes all of us.

It is the only settled conclusion.

We are taking those steps now.

Each one of us, as we consider the direction we want to go in the world, are heading to the deep peace.

This is the direction we want the world to go in, for all of us.

There is no desire to deprive anyone.

Even ambition, as blind as it is, has to contend with the truth of the great love the Universe has for all of us.

As we feel the deep peace which we all have access to, it is acting as a corrective force.

It is bringing the deep peace which we all long for.

Living in a Peaceful Place

With so much turmoil around us in the world, it is important to find a place of peace.

I am learning to go within to listen for a feeling of rest and peace.

As I breathe deeply and relax, the feeling of peace begins to move through my being.

I am learning to let the moments stretch a bit longer.

I used to feel that I needed to use this process in order to get my work done, to accomplish a particular task.

But now, I am learning i can do it for its own sake.

It is enough to be able to feel the comfort of simply being relaxed.

Not the excitement of entertainment.

Not the passivity of suggestion through the media.

Deep, intimate, individual communion within.

I love to do this when I can be surrounded by Nature.

But I can also access a peaceful setting within, wherever I am.

Turmoil and Tranquility

It seems there is a cycle where things that are out of balance have to return to a tranquil base.

While the discomfort is going on, and debate rages, new thoughts come out of discussion.

It is important to see how these new thoughts fit and to refine them.

When a new situation stirs up resistance, it is good to listen to it.

Progress is demanded.

What is good, keep.

What needs to become good, fix.

As things heat up and become more and more incongruent, only the leading edge notices.

When it starts melting, the next strata becomes aware.

As more and more groups are affected, and the experiences become more widespread, feeling coalesces into action.

Action surges one way and then another.

When enough needs are met in the new agreements that are forged, society starts to get its new balance.

Continual refining is needed until the balance is sound.

That is the way we move from turmoil into tranquility.

Discovering the Deep Self

Under all the facade of personality is the deep self.

It is all the feelings and ideas we have that are attuned to the Infinite.

When we make a habit of going within to listen, we begin to hear our ageless connection to the Infinite Universe.

It comforts us, guides us, informs us, totally supports us.

When we listen to it, we are never wrong, nor are we ever wronged.

We are in the right place at the right time.

We are in our right state of mind.

We have great ideas to share.

We give generously.

Our lives become peaceful.

We are truly “slow to anger”.

We watch the comings and goings of all kinds of regrettable disturbances from a distance, even as we take the action we can to change them.

We have such a deep knowledge of the power of Infinite Good, that we simply, watch, and take action, and move with great expectation.

Our Deep Self is sure of the power of good for all of us.

A Reservoir of Peace

When something shocks your world, you can be glad you have a reservoir of peace.

Since maintaining your peace is something you actively cultivate, you have a foundation to stand on.

You may reel for a while, but soon your equilibrium restores itself, because you have made an active practice of peace in your life.

When I hear or see cruelty, I am momentarily shocked.

I have to find a place of peace within in order to contribute something more powerful than outrage.

I have to find a way to add some kind of healing to the atmosphere.

When I revisit deep resentments in memory, I have to reroute myself quickly.

I no longer gain anything from wallowing in old pain.

My practice of peace has gone deeper and deeper and has dissolved so much.

I need to constantly add to it and maintain it.

I want to live peacefully and to be productive.

My reservoir of peace helps me do that.

With Deliberate Calm

Move with deliberate calm.

You can change the way you go about your day.

Instead of rushing, give yourself an extra moment to take a deep breath.

This is your life priority.

Anything that agitates you, disturbs you, upsets you has to wait.

It is not urgent, even though that is how it affects you.

The one priority is that first affirmative breath.

It is a breath of inspiration, a breath of peace which sets up your day.

With the first calming breath, you lay a foundation for your day.

That acknowledges the inner guidance at the core of your life, before the emotional persuasion tactics have an opportunity.

Then when the agitation, disturbance, upset does show up, you already have your inner calmness which naturally creates your outer calmness.

that lets you consider what yo are hearing instead of just reacting to it.

Instead of the emotional persuasion, you have a clam inner peace at your core.

You can be deliberate.

You can consider what you are hearing.

You can think.

And then, you can respond, intelligently, compassionately, generously, with deliberate calm.

Light Meeting Light

There has been so much progress and enlightenment throughout millennia regarding social issues.

We are now meeting the clash of this progressive world with the social norms of the past.

With increased understanding about mental and emotional capacities in both genders, there has been increased freedom in all roles.

Suddenly, we have reached a tipping point, where the forward momentum has to define itself in a more intense fashion.

This is happening;  we are seeing consensus along a wider and more expansive front than ever before.

And there is a powerful backlash that tries to refute the progress and expansion which has been occurring.

Since this enlightenment is in people’s hearts and souls, it cannot move backward.

It is so well established that it is running over, crossing every kind of border.

The old postures of the past are no longer valid.

They were only stepping stones to the present, which is continuing to evolve to include everyone.

The paths that have enlightened the past have evolved to today, and they continue onward, igniting the spark in everyone’s heart.

Freedom is found, and it reaches out its light to everyone.

It will not be stopped.
